Visitation Schedule
As Pastor, I attempted to visit in the homes of everyone in Calvary Church. However, I fell a little short of the goal and I still have homes to visit in 2012. The homes are listed below. I am not going to make a schedule, but, if you would like me to stop by at a certain time convenient for you during the next number of months, please call me at the office (255-4281) or on my cell phone (426-5695) and make that appointment. Otherwise, I will just drop by your house unannounced. Thanks for your cooperation as this will give me a great opportunity to get to know everyone better.

Calvary Church extends Sympathy to the family and friends:
Calvary Church extends sympathy to the family and friends of Carol Gomke, sister-in-law of Ruth (Mel) Will. Carol passed away on January 6; her memorial service wasl on January 17, at United Church of Christ here in Bismarck.
Calvary Church extends sympathy to the family of Kathryn Gomke, mother of Ruth Will. Mrs. Gomke passed away on January 19; her funeral was January 26, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Elgin.
Calvary Church extends sympathy to the family of Maggie Becker, sister of Vi Sebastian. Mrs. Becker passed away January 30. Maggie has lived in California many years and was currently residing in Citrus Heights, a community north of Sacramento. Services for Maggie were pending as of this writing.
Calvary Church extends sympathy to the family and friends of Art Schock, brother of Viola Sebastian. As a teacher, Mr. Schock taught at least two Calvary members as students: Ruth Will and Nyla Kilber. Many of our congregation, including Pastor Perry’s family, knew Art as a long-time insurance agent in the Bismarck area. Art was the last living of Vi’s seven brothers; he passed away on December 19 in Arizona. A memorial service is scheduled in Arizona for December 30.

Calling Men & Women to Further Ministry
Occasionally the church office gets requests from individuals who could use the services of a handy person to do some small jobs around their homes that are difficult if not impossible for these people to carry out themselves. We would like to compile a list of names of men or women who would be willing to help out in this way. It would be good if we had someone who would be willing to head up this group of ‘good Samaritan’s.’ If you are willing to help out in this way, please call the office and leave your name with our Administrative Assistant.
The congregation of Calvary Church extends congratulations to:
Congratulations to Jerad and Chelsie Hagel upon the birth of their daughter, Brielle Quinn. Brielle was born on November 7, 2011, and weighed in at 8 lbs. 3 oz. and 20 ¾” long. Proud grandparents are Mike and Beckie Dronen.
May God Bless these families.
MINUTES - 2011 ALL CHURCH CONFERENCE - DECEMBER 5, 2011
Present: Rev. Keith Nelson, Rev. Perry Schnabel, Elaine Beyl, Erlene Heupel, Mel Heupel, Ken Hogue, Mark Leischner, Al Sherman, Sally Walker, Bill Wilson, Darla Ziegler.
District Superintendent Rev. Keith Nelson opened with devotions and prayer.
Rev. Nelson called the meeting to order and requested Rev. Schnabel to present the Pastor’s Report.
In the financial report, the $3,000 designated as housing allowance was approved by congregants in attendance. Local parish expenses were approved as delineated in the 2011 Charge Conference Report and the 2012 church budget was adopted.
Calvary Church’s lay leader, Mel Heupel, was recertified for 2012. The lay leadership roster was approved as presented.
Pastor Perry informed the gathering of an offer he had received from the New Rockford United Methodist Church. The New Rockford church held its final congregational service on November 20 and was in the process of liquidating its assets. The New Rockford church wishes to gift its grand piano and organ with chimes to Calvary United Methodist Church. The cost to Calvary is limited to moving of the instruments. Bill Wilson moved that the Calvary congregation accept this gift. Mel Heupel seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned and Pastor Perry offered the closing prayer.
Respectfully submitted,
Elaine Beyl
